Yokosuka Primary School first graders adopt USS Ralph Johnson
First graders from Yokosuka PS proudly participated in a special event to adopt the USS Ralph Johnson (DDG-114).
Using the Season for Science and Math
Yokosuka Primary School first grade students from Mrs. McHaney’s class learned all about a popular harvest season fruit. During the scientific investigation, first graders analyzed pumpkins of different sizes and shapes to determine each fruit’s overall dimensions, weight, and external characteristics.
Student journalists unite at Far East Journalism
More than 105 high school journalism students representing DoDEA-Pacific schools across Japan, Okinawa, Guam, and Korea gathered at Dragon Hill Lodge in Yongsan, Seoul for the annual Far East Journalism Conference Oct. 27–30, 2025.

National Reading Month
DoDEA joins the National Education Association and schools across the nation in celebrating Read Across America on March 2nd and all year long to help motivate kids to read, bring the joys of reading to students of all ages, and make all children feel valued and welcome.
Music in Our Schools Month
DoDEA joins the National Association for Music Education and schools across the nation in celebrating Music in Our Schools Month (MIOSM) in March. The purpose of recognizing MIOSM in DoDEA is to highlight and advocate for music programs in our schools.
