Welcome Back!

As the doors of Yokosuka Primary School swing open once again, we are thrilled to welcome our families and students to an exciting new chapter: Year 3 of our new school. Walking through the halls, there is a palpable sense of anticipation and joy as old friends reunite and new friendships begin to form, setting the stage for an incredible year ahead.

This year, the energy in our classrooms is deeply centered around powerful student voice. Through our innovative school-wide strategies, we are championing student-led discourse, giving our children the confidence, agency, and platform to truly drive their own learning. Whether they are carefully exploring the 5 Ws (Who, What, Where, When, Why and How) to dive deep into inquiry and critical thinking, or engaging in lively, collaborative Math Talks to share, defend, and expand upon their mathematical reasoning, our students are taking the lead by  doing the talking, the reasoning, and the discovering together.

Everywhere you look, in the bustling hallways, out on the playground, on study trips, and out in the broader community, our students proudly display their SWIM behaviors. These guide their actions and interactions, proving each and every day that kindness, responsibility, and respect are woven into everything they do, both in and out of school.

Of course, none of this remarkable growth happens in isolation. Parent partnership is the heartbeat of our school community, and we know that the most profound educational experiences are built hand-in-hand between home and school. Your ongoing support, communication, and involvement make all the difference in creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
